Five reasons to invest in Cameroon

  • A dynamic market

The most populous country in CEMAC, Cameroon has a young population and a growing middle class. Demand is rising in agro-industry, retail, telecommunications, financial services and real estate.

Universities and higher-education institutions train graduates in engineering, management and technology every year: a skilled workforce for producing locally.

  • A strategic position

Facing the Gulf of Guinea and bordering six countries, Cameroon is the main seaboard of CEMAC and a corridor to Chad and the Central African Republic.

The African Continental Free Trade Area (AfCFTA) widens this access to the continent, and the proximity of Nigeria opens industrial and commercial partnerships.

  • Sustained growth

The economy keeps growing despite an unstable global context, driven by agriculture, mining, energy, construction and services. This diversity limits dependence on any single resource.

There is ample room for growth in local processing, manufacturing and digital services, all encouraged by public policy.

  • A secure institutional framework

Ordinance No. 2025/002 of 18 July 2025 modernises tax and customs incentives, and the API’s one-stop shop simplifies procedures.

Cameroon is party to international conventions on investment protection and commercial arbitration, providing legal certainty for foreign capital.

  • Modern infrastructure

New hydroelectric plants, Nachtigal among them, have increased electricity production. Modernised ports and logistics corridors strengthen regional competitiveness.

Industrial zones and an expanding road network make it easier to set up production units and move goods.
